Aloha and welcome to the Lyman Field Composite Squadron!
Our squadron is one of the ten squadrons found across the State of Hawaii and is located close to the Hilo International Airport. We are honored that you are considering our programs, which are specifically designed to enhance general aviation, emergency services, and cadet programs.
Our mission is to provide exceptional training and education for individuals keen on developing their skills within aviation, emergency services, and youth development. Our programs are tailored to meet the needs of each individual, and our dedicated team of experts is committed to providing top-notch instruction and mentorship. We trust you will find the Lyman Field Composite Squadron programs rewarding and informative.
Our organization has provided aerial assistance to the United States Coast Guard (USCG) District 10 and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in response to the 2018 Kilauea volcano eruption in Hawaii. Our squadron, composed of both senior members and cadets, has effectively conducted flyovers of various affected locations in support of the ongoing mission.
As a volunteer, 1st Lt Jason Ozbolt plays an instrumental role in ensuring the squadron's continued day-to-day operations. His leadership and dedication have been invaluable to the success of our efforts alongside dedicated senior members and cadets. We take pride in our ability to provide support during times of crisis and remain committed to upholding our mission of service to the community.
We cordially invite and strongly encourage individuals between the ages of 12 to 18 and adults 18 or older to attend our meetings, which are held at our hangar location. Our cadet meetings occur every Friday night from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while our Senior Members meet every 2nd Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. to discuss various training and squadron opportunities. We believe that participating in our meetings can be a valuable experience for individuals looking to develop their skills and knowledge in our field.
